Celebrate Earth Day today and everyday
Tierra means “Earth” in Spanish, and protecting it is at the core of everything we do – from solar panels that power us, down to the biodegradable straw served with your evening cocktail. Now more than ever, it’s important for all of us to take steps to protect our planet.
Excursions that respect nature
Our adventures allow guests to get out and enjoy the beautiful scenery, but we also ensure that we take proper measures in order to protect the environment. At Tierra Hotels, we are very committed to following these rules and teaching our guests about why they are so essential to ecological conservation.
Majestic Licancabur
This enormous volcano, sacred to indigenous people, appears on the desert horizon and immediately captivates the attention of those who visit San Pedro de Atacama. It is dormant, but does not appear so. Rising above the high plains, it is part of the Andes Mountain Range and its crater contains the fifth largest lagoon in the world.
Make your own granola bar… Tierra style

High-altitude Cocktails
The native ingredients of the Atacama Desert – the driest desert in the world – have been utilized for centuries by the local people. Used in different preparations, herbs like rica-rica, pingo-pingo, and copa-copa, provide a multitude of health and wellness benefits. All of these herbs and plants grow in the desert at over 2,200 meters above sea level.
A wellness experience featuring nature’s colors and aromas
Colored salt baths are one of the locally-inspired elements that characterize Uma Spa at Tierra Hotels. Special aromas are released each time these salts are used, because they are plant-dyed using an ancient traditional method.
