A piece of ancestral heritage you can bring home
A piece of ancestral heritage you can bring home
In our Uma Spas, Tierra Hotels offers guests the experience of bathing in nature’s colors and scents with Maqui and Goldenrod pigmented salts.
Golden rod is a small herbaceous plant with yellow flowers sprouting from its branches. Its name comes from the Latin word solidare meaning “to strengthen” in reference to its medicinal properties.
The Maqui is a tree indigenous to the sub-Antarctic forests of Chile and Argentina. Its edible fruit is spherical and is a deep, brilliant violet-black in color. The Mapuche people use it extensively as a natural medicine and as part of a long tradition of dying their textiles and other decorative pieces.
“We invite our guests to relax and experience the pleasure of connecting with nature. Putting ourselves directly in contact with these ancestral, cultural elements allows us to discover them more completely,” says Joyce Sommerfield, Continuous Improvement Manager for Tierra Hotels.
